Perm receives letters of condolences from twin-cities.

“I am horrified by the cruelty of the incident which killed 6 people and affected many others. Allow me, on behalf of the city administration, all residents of the city of Duisburg, and also on my own behalf, to express deep and sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims, to all residents of our twin-city Perm and to you personally, Mayor Demkin. We wish all those injured a speedy and complete recovery. Our dear friends in Perm, at this difficult time for you, we are with you. Therefore, please inform me if our city can help you and the people of Perm in any way. With best wishes from Duisburg,” - Sören Link, Mayor of Duisburg.

On Monday, September 20, there was a deadly shooting in Perm. Tragically, six people were killed at the Perm State University. Twenty-eight people were taken to  hospitals for further medical treatment.The assailant, identified as a male student of Law Faculty at Perm State University, walked on to campus on Monday morning and started shooting. Students and teachers barricaded themselves inside the university building, while others were seen screaming and jumping from windows. A suspect in the shooting was arrested and wounded after resisting law enforcement officers.
